The AbilityOne Program, established by the Javits-Wagner-O’Day Act, provides employment opportunities for Americans with significant disabilities.

Through AbilityOne, Project HIRED employs Call Center Telephone Operators at Veterans Affairs Medical Centers within California. Positions are available in Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Fresno.

This is a unique opportunity for individuals with significant disabilities to enter into and return to the workforce.

Become a Call Center Candidate

Placement in AbilityOne positions is based upon assessment and referral from Project HIRED staff and requires an application process that is separate from our Client Services application process.

Interested applicants must complete all steps to be considered for employment in an AbilityOne position with Project HIRED.

Applicant must:

  • Write a letter on formal letterhead stating the applicant's medical diagnosis

  • Complete a Project HIRED AbilityOne Medical Evaluation (included in Application packet)

All documents must be submitted as a complete packet to Project HIRED.

They can be mailed, faxed, or emailed.

Once Project HIRED receives your application packet a staff member will follow up with you.
