Mission & History
The Project HIRED Wounded Warrior Workforce℠

The Project HIRED Wounded Warrior Workforce℠, established in 2010, is a portfolio of people, resources, and services that focuses Project HIRED’s extensive expertise in support of disabled and injured veterans as they transition to the civilian workforce. The Project HIRED Wounded Warrior Workforce supports disabled veterans by:

  • Offering career exploration and development services
  • Facilitating job retention, job searches, and retraining
  • Providing veterans with wrap-around support services

Additionally, the program helps businesses leverage the unique advantages of the veteran workforce, supporting them with information, resources, and services to help them recruit and retain veteran employees.

The program’s support for employers of veterans with disabilities includes talent placement services, customizable employer trainings and workshops, and consulting services.

The Project HIRED Service Dog Program for Wounded Warriors

With our Service Dog Program for Wounded Warriors (a service of our Wounded Warrior Workforce program), Project HIRED proudly joins the network of organizations nationwide that connect individuals with disabilities with service animals to improve their quality of life and employability.

What makes our program special is the early, direct, and immediate involvement of the human partner starting at acceptance into the program. In order to increase independence, offer social support and improve employability, program participants contribute directly to finding, raising, and fully training their canine partners. This unique approach offers our clients greater control over their rehabilitation and prepares them for success with their service dogs in the civilian workforce.
