Jack Kirwan, Director of Veteran Services, California Department of Veterans Affairs

Join us on June 8 in Monterey to meet Jack Kirwan—who joins Project HIRED Executive Director Gwen Ford for our morning keynote address, at the Executive Roundtable luncheon, and to meet attending veterans and employers. Mr.Kirwan was appointed Director of Veteran Services for the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CDVA) in May 2012. As Director of Veteran Services, he is responsible for assisting the Department in completing its mission by providing services to help California's 1.9 million veterans get connected to the benefits and services they have earned.

Mr. Kirwan retired from the U.S. Navy with the rank of Captain after 25 years active duty. Designated a Naval Aviator in 1973 following graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy, he served operational tours in fleet helicopter squadrons and served as a flight instructor. A variety of shore assignments culminated in Mr. Kirwan being named Commanding Officer of the Naval and Marine Corps Readiness Center in Sacramento.

During Mr. Kirwan's career within the Department. he has served as Deputy Secretary for Administration, Chief of Veteran Services, Chief of Financial Services, and Budget Officer. Welcome Jack Kirwan to the Project HIRED WWW event tradition!
